This policy explains what personal data Finance.net.in (“we”) collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors from India and from other countries, including the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom.
Who is responsible for your data
Finance.net.in, an independent website run by its owner in India,, contactable at [email protected].
What we collect
- Server and security logs: your IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of the request. Our hosting provider and our content delivery network (Cloudflare) process this data to deliver the website and protect it from attacks. Logs are kept for a limited time.
- Website statistics: we use Google Analytics 4 (through Google Site Kit) to count visits and see which pages are read. It uses cookies and collects your IP address (shortened by Google), device and browser details and the pages you visit. We use these statistics only in aggregate.
- Calculator inputs: numbers you type into our calculators are processed in your browser and are not stored by us.
- Messages you send us: if you email us, we keep your message and email address to reply.
- Newsletter: your email address, kept only after you confirm your subscription by clicking the link we send. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from future mailings.
- Language menu: if you choose another language from the menu in the header, we store that choice in a cookie named
googtransfor one year and load Google Translate, which translates the page in your browser. Google receives the page text and your IP address to do this. If you never use the menu, nothing is loaded from Google Translate.
Cookies and advertising
We use two kinds of cookies today: Google Analytics cookies (such as _ga) to count visits, and the googtrans cookie when you use the language menu. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you choose “Accept” in our cookie banner; your choice is kept for six months in a cookie named fni_consent, and you can change it at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on. When advertising is enabled, we use Google AdSense, which uses cookies to show ads and measure their performance. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Where the law requires it, for example for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, we will ask for your consent before personalised advertising cookies are used. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. Learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Why we use your data
- To run, secure and improve the website (legitimate interest).
- To reply to your messages (legitimate interest or your consent).
- To send the newsletter you asked for (your consent).
- To show advertising, personalised only where you have consented if consent is required.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, where it applies, the GDPR, you may ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, and raise a grievance. Write to the contact above; we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your data protection authority.
Sharing and transfers
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site (hosting with Hostinger, content delivery and security with Cloudflare, statistics with Google Analytics, translation with Google Translate when you use the language menu, email and, when enabled, advertising), who may process it outside India under appropriate safeguards.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version.
