The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has announced that its PolicyTwin prototype won first place at the C:>DIR Global ‘Agentic Regulator’ Hackathon. The announcement came in press release No. 63/2026, dated 14 October 2026.
What happened
A hackathon is a time-bound contest where teams build working prototypes to solve a set problem. SEBI’s press release, as available to us, carries only its title and date. It says PolicyTwin took first place at the event.
The text we have does not describe what PolicyTwin does, who built it, how many teams took part or what happens next. We have left those points out rather than guess.

What it means for you
Nothing changes for investors, brokers, mutual funds or listed companies because of this announcement. It is not a new regulation, circular or compliance requirement, and it does not affect any market product.
If SEBI later publishes details on the prototype or plans to use it, those would be the points to watch. For a plain-language introduction to the regulator, see our explainer on what SEBI is.
Background
SEBI is India’s securities market regulator. It issues press releases numbered through the year to announce decisions, rules and other developments. This one is number 63 of 2026.
